- Tentatively mark your calendar for the next campout the weekend of Oct 11-12. All welcome.
05/14/2014 - Camping Details: The camp site is located at the supervised youth camping
area at Hickory
Grove Park (East of Ames, 40 min drive
from the troop meeting location). Our arrival time will be 10am with departure
by noon the next day. This will be a “bring your own food and a bundle of wood”
situation to keep logistics simple. If you are unsure what to bring for feed
please feel free to email or call. For firewood, you can purchase it at the camp
ground for $5 or you can pick up a bundle at HyVee for I think $4 something.
The only requirement is that it must be certified if it is out of county
(emerald ash borer). If you are interested in coming but don't have any
equipment please let me know and we will see what we can come up with. Also,
you are free to come and go as you please; staying the night is not required.
Just as a reminder this is a family campout, the entire family is welcome but
at least one parent per child is required. While this is a woodlands event, our
troop is small enough that anyone associated with the troop is welcome. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.Brian Kampling, Woodland Ranger, 515-865-6886
